Windows XP Service Pack 2 blocks the download and installation of ActiveX controls due to which you might get error messages such as "Grid Control Failed to Load", "Centric Project Upload/Download applet is missing" or "A required Centric Project component is not installed". Use the following procedure to fix this problem.
From the Internet Explorer, select the Tools menu.
Click the Internet Options menu item.
The Internet Options dialog box appears.
Click the Security tab.
Click on the Trusted Sites icon.
Click the Sites button.
In the Add this Web site to the zone: field, enter the address of your Centric Project site, hit the Add button, then hit OK (see below).
Note: If your site does not use HTTPS protocol, uncheck “Require server verification (HTTPS) for all site in this zone” before hitting the Add button.
Make sure that Security level for this zone is let to Low. If it is not, click on the Default Level button to reset it.
Click OK to close the dialog box.
In case you find that the Internet Explorer settings still prevent you from downloading the ActiveX controls, use the following procedure to modify the settings.
From the Internet Explorer, select the Tools menu.
Click the Internet Options menu item.
The Internet Options dialog box appears.
Click the Security tab.
Click the Trusted Sites icon to select it.
Click the Custom Level button.
The Security Settings dialog box is displayed.
Click the Enable option for the following:
Run components not signed with Authenticode
Run components signed with Authenticode
Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls
Binary and Script behaviors
Download signed ActiveX controls
Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins
Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting
Click OK.
Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.
